Family Business – Living History

Ned & Bea Carey
Ned & Bea Carey

Ned and Bea Carey became part of The Corner Door legacy back in 1953, when they moved their mercantile business in town from Laurel Highway.

Ned passed away in 2004, but Bea carries on the tradition of creating custom picture frames for clients from around Sussex County, upstate Delaware, and across the Delmarva Peninsula.

Next year will mark the 60th anniversary for my mother, Beatrice Carey, as the matriarch for the family-owned shop, at the location on State Street. Step back in time with a visit to this quaint, historic building.
